Quality Service

George Brazil Air Conditioning & Heating performs furnace tune-ups throughout Phoenix and the Valley. The tune-up is an annual heating service: our background-checked technicians clean the equipment, verify its safety systems, and document everything on a report card with pictures and video. Phoenix has called George for over 70 years for reliable, courteous service in Arizona.

The checklist runs from combustion safety to airflow, documented as we go:

  • We clean the burners and inspect the heat exchanger, the inspection that anchors heating safety.
  • We clean and adjust the pilot assembly or ignition system, the component Valley duty cycles wear hardest.
  • We check for gas leaks and test the gas valve’s operation.
  • We inspect the flue pipe and draft diverter so combustion gases vent outside.
  • We test and adjust the safety and operating controls.
  • We check the blower motor and belt, tighten all wiring and connections, and lubricate motors, bearings, and fans.
  • We adjust the burner for maximum efficiency and check the temperature rise.
  • We check backup heating elements and meter voltage and amperage at the motors.
  • We evaluate your air filters and provide a detailed report card on system performance including picture and video

Why does my furnace click several times before lighting?

Repeated clicking means the igniter is sparking without the burners catching, usually from a dirty flame sensor, dusty burners, or a weakening igniter. Each failed attempt is a stress cycle, and the pattern tends to end in a no-heat morning. It is one of the most common and cheapest problems a fall tune-up resolves.

Do heat pumps need fall service even though they run all summer?

Yes, because winter asks them a different question. Heating mode exercises the reversing valve, defrost cycle, and backup elements, none of which summer cooling touches. The fall visit verifies that side of the system, which a Phoenix heat pump may not have used since February.

Is carbon monoxide a concern in a mild-winter city?

Yes. CO risk comes from the equipment’s condition, not the length of the season: a cracked exchanger or blocked flue is dangerous in any climate on the nights the furnace runs. Our inspection covers both, and we photograph and film what we find so the evidence is yours to see.

How does dust from monsoon season affect my furnace?

Haboob dust infiltrates everything, including return ducts, filters, and burner compartments, and it sits there through the long off season. Dusty burners light raggedly and foul flame sensors. Fall cleaning removes the summer’s accumulation before the furnace has to burn through it.

Will you pressure me to replace my old furnace?

No. Our Trusted Advisor process comes with the report card, which presents the system’s documented condition. The technician explains the options, and the decision is yours. When replacement is the honest answer, the pictures and video will make that case on their own, and next-day installation is available if you choose it.

The Trusted Advisor process means the technician tests, documents with pictures and video, explains, and presents options, and you choose without the sales pressure. Background checks on every technician and white glove treatment of your home are standing policy, and many of the faces you see have been with George for years.

Same-day service backs the maintenance work when a finding needs fast follow-up from our furnace repair team, and next-day installs are available when replacement wins the math. Book online, call, or use the 24/7 website chat.
